Invasive Non-Native Plant Species (INNS) Surveys
Invasive Non-Native Plant Species (INNS) are plants introduced to UK ecosystems, either deliberately or accidentally, that thrive in local conditions and develop invasive characteristics, contributing to ecological degradation, biodiversity loss and property damage.
Listed under Schedule 9 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act, INNS are strictly regulated, and their spread is considered an offence. If identified on-site, appropriate measures must be taken to contain their spread and, where possible, fully eradicate them in compliance with biosecurity and waste management regulations.
At Ecosphere Ecology, we have the expertise and accreditations to conduct INNS surveys, develop management plans, and assist with their eradication. With several years of experience managing Japanese knotweed, Himalayan balsam, and giant hogweed across a range of settings, from domestic properties to large infrastructure projects, we understand the challenges that these species present. Through first-hand experience, we have developed and implemented pragmatic, cost-effective solutions to ensure effective containment and eradication while minimising environmental impact.
If you need assistance with the management and eradication of invasive plant species on your site, we’re here to help!
