I love working with bats, whether it be conducting transects, emergence or aerial tree climbing surveys. As a Class 2 Bat licenced ecologist, I also get the opportunity to carry out bat box checks on various mitigation schemes. I find the anticipation of not knowing what you might find really exciting. In my spare time I work with various wildlife groups and enjoy creating wildlife art and going to the gym.

I’m a very active committee member of both Bedfordshire and Herts and Middlesex bat groups. We monitor various bat species over these counties, collecting data which contributes to knowledge of how bat populations are faring and research which can be used on a national scale. We carry out Bat Box checks, Transects, Emergence, Trapping, Activity and Hibernation surveys at a vast number of sites. We are also active bat carers, rescuing, rehabilitating and releasing grounded or injured bats as part of Herts and Middlesex Bat group. We are also members of Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Amphibian and Reptile group.
